Labengki Island in North Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province

A great vacation involves a wondrous tourist spot and a nice weather. Here is a recommended tourist attraction, which is located in Southeast Sulawesi Province. The name is Labengki Island and it is part of North Konawe Regency. One thing that makes it popular is the formation of coral reefs in many parts of the island. Not to mention it consists of two different islands, which are Big Labengki and Small Labengki Island. The island also provides an opportunity for hiking, so adventurers should take advantage of it.

The Nuance
As mentioned before, the main feature of Labengki Island is the coral reefs. Some parts of those reefs are even climbable, and the views from the top of them are quite stunning. The next feature of the island is the diving spots, which are accessible to everyone. Those locations offer a jaw-dropping formation of corals and fishes. It doesn’t have to be diving, as you can simply enjoy snorkeling or swimming. Thanks to the calm and clear sea, everyone would get a wonderful experience.

Exploring Labengki Island
People in Southeast Sulawesi Province call Labengki Island as a small version of Papua’s Raja Ampat. It is because of the beauty of nature and its signature tourist spot called the Love Cape. Why is the name? The cape has the shape of a heart, which represents a love. It is the most interesting part of Labengki Island, after all. Tourists can do several fun things like snorkeling, swimming, and sightseeing. Both the fishes and corals are exotic, which become your companion while diving.

As mentioned earlier, Labengki Island consists of small and big island and both of them are worth a visit. Not to mention they have several good spots for diving. If you get lucky, you are able to find giant clams and Kima (having the size of 50 cm). In fact, Labengki’s is the second largest Kima in the world. No wonder, many researchers come to this location to observe such creature and to visit the nature conservation of the island.
Apart from snorkeling and swimming, Labengki Island is also famous for its fishing spot. Some parts of the island are suitable for fishing, so you should have prepared your fishing rod beforehand. The most famous fishes live there, including red snappers, layars, yellow-fin tuna, and barracuda. Once you catch some of these fishes, you are allowed to grill them later. That means Labengki Island is also a perfect location for a BBQ party. Have no worries, some facilities are available on the island, including conservation’s guard post.
